It has been some time since I updated my Blog on Chloe’s Place and I thought it was about time for me to update everyone on my battle with Cancer (Multiple Myeloma) and also to encourage you to live each day like it may be your last day. Who knows when that day will come but one thing for sure is that it will. I was reminded recently as I tried to help a fellow addict that the most valuable thing I had to share was my time. Time is our greatest resource and the one thing you can’t buy more of, you can get more things but each of us has a finite amount of time and how much we each have is unknown. My battle with Cancer is really not as bad as some of the folks I see at the Infusion Center each month. It is also hard to lose friends as the disease ends their time here. I have been so blessed to have the support of my wife and family and I totally understand what a difference they make in my journey. The one thing that battling any disease like Cancer provides you is perspective. I think about my life as I have had a great life and experienced many things and succeeded and failed in some very big ways. I still hope to accomplish more in my life and have begun to really enjoy watching my children grow and really participate in growing and taking chances and experiencing both good times and tough times. I would love to protect them and make everything work out for them but that is not an option. I can only support them as much as I can and pray for their safety and happiness. Life is so great and I intend to write as much as possible while I can to encourage everyone to slow down and enjoy life, tomorrow is not guaranteed and there is no way to go back and alter your past. The moment you currently find yourself in is all you can be assured of so please don’t waste it.
